About the Venue
The Gettysburg Jeep Fest is held at the World War II American Experience Museum, a dynamic, immersive museum located just outside Gettysburg, PA. Founded to honor the bravery and sacrifices of the WWII generation, this expanding museum showcases an impressive collection of authentic WWII vehicles, uniforms, artifacts, and interactive exhibits—ranging from combat zone machines like Sherman tanks and “Follow Me” jeeps to life on the home front through dioramas and living history displays.
Founded by locals Frank and Loni Buck, the museum contains immersive exhibits and programming that bring history to life. Visitors can explore dioramas that portray not only battles but also civilian efforts, including a reconstructed 1940s kitchen and home-scale dioramas. The site hosts re-enactments, living-history programs, and vehicle experiences that add a powerful, hands-on perspective to WWII education.
Located near the Gettysburg battlefield, the museum also serves as a community gathering hub through events like Military Weekend and educational seminars. Its proximity to Gettysburg’s historic Civil War sites provides a poignant dual narrative—capturing both WWII’s significance and Gettysburg’s enduring legacy.
